Fibonacci System Principles
The Fibonacci Betting System is a numerical progression that is to be used with wagers that carry even odds. Here is the sequence of numbers: 1 - 1 - 2 - 3 - 5 - 8 - 13 - 21 - 34 - 55 - 89 - 233 – 275. The numbers represent betting units.
With the system, each time you lose, you bet the next number in the sequence. When you win, you move down two numbers in the sequence. The idea is that when you lose, you increase your wager to make up for that loss and because supposedly after a loss you’re more likely to win, and you decrease your wager after a win because when you win chances are the next bet will result in a loss.
How it Works
Let’s look at an example of the Fibonacci Betting System with a sequence of seven bets.
• Wager 1 unit. Win
• Wager 1 unit. Lose.
• Wager 1 more unit. Bet with 2 units. Lose.
• Wager using 3 units. Lose.
• Wager using 5 units. Win.
• Go down two steps and wager using 2 units. Lose.
• Wager with 3 units. Win.
At the end of this sequence, you are even. With your next wager, you’ll bet 1 unit.
Usefulness of the Fibonacci Betting System
Like many of the other systems, the Fibonacci Betting System embraces the Gambler’s Fallacy. It is basically a conservative form of the Martingale System and is not recommended.
